| I was born in Vanwyksvlei . I obtained my Primary education at W.R.Burger
Primary school in Vanwyksvlei. I then completed my secondary education
at Carnarvon Secondary school. After completion of my secondary education,
I went to the University of the Western Cape (UWC) where I completed
a B.Comm degree and a Higher Diploma in Education(HDE). I have also
completed the N4 and N5 courses in computer practice at De Aar Technical
College.
In 1993 I started to teach at Brandboom Primary school in Boegoeberg.
During my teaching career of ten years I served on various bodies.
I became a Head of Department in 1996.In 1994 I became treasurer of
the South African Democratic Teachers Assosiation (SADTU) in the Groblershoop
Branch. Where I served as an executive member until 1999. I was a
councilor of Brandboom Transitional Council from 1995-1999. In this
period I represented Brandboom on the Bo-Karoo Regional Services Council.
I was a member of the District Council’s executive committee,
member of the personnel and Infrastructure (chairperson) committees.
In 1999 I was appointed on to the audit committee of the Council (Bo-KarooRSC).
From 1999 I taught at Veritas Secondary school in De Aar, where I
taught a variety of commercial subjects. I was a member of our church
council (Anglican) for the year 2003. During 2003 I started a HonsB.Comm
degree via Unisa. I did not write exams in 2004 (because of career
changes), but my average mark for assignments were well above 60%
I was appointed as Financial Manager of Siyathemba from the 1st of
November 2003. I’m married to Morel, I have 2 children (Cherelle
and Charlene). I ‘m live in De Aar and commute weekly. I enjoy
my position and look forward to the next few years.
